Nixon Watches Review

Like every fashion item on which opinions differ, Nixon watches are not an exception. So let´s discover together this serious looking watchmaker.
Nixon is American watches brand which was founded in the 90s in California, Encinitas more precisely. Because of its focus on the youth lifestyle, teenagers are the ones who pushed its popularity forward, especially skaters and surfers. Watches are not the only product which Nixon manufactures, shirts wallets and headphones are also other items which are produced by the American brand which now is owned by Billabong (still surf/skate scene). Some people are accusing the brand of not being elegant and unable to fly under the radar. Nixon’s effort to come with creative designs is noticeable.

Nixon Movements

Nixon has also attempted recently to integrate better movements in all of their timepieces and which are mostly Japanese or Swiss movements. They have series of full Swiss automatic watches. One of these is the the classy Nixon automatic II A209 and which watches connoisseur suspects it to to be ETA 2824-2 25-jewel movements or possibly the Sellita SW200 clone. This Nixon watch model is one of the expensive one out there.

A Popular Nixon Watch

One of the popular Nixon watches that has got attention is the Nixon Banks. Eventhough the movement is not very appreciated by some. Another con of this one is that it has individual tiny battery running each dial which means the 3 have to be replaced, and sometimes, all at different intervals of time. This ends up to be a costy watch like many other Nixon watches. But the Nixon Banks is a very elegant modern watch.
I was surfing on the net this morning and stumbled upon an article in askmen in which was a question from a watch knob saying that he wanted a watch that’s around the same price range as Nixon but as stylish as their watches. This person was a woman wanting to buy her husband a watch for his birthday. The answer from the post author was really funny making stating that Nixon doesn’t deserve attention which I don’t agree with. This guy and like many fashionistOS, is probably comparing Nixon to major, expensive, brands like Rolex.
Nixon has got a great attention of the public, forums users are even posting an entire thread dedicated to their watches to discuss the quality and features of them. That said, they are very nice looking timepieces worthy of attention and there a lot of discounts out there on these watches that will encourage you to try one of them.
